Abstract

Inspired by these milestones, this study explores the history and contributions of the Taipower Women’s Badminton Team, a key force in Taiwanese badminton since its founding in 1971. Adopting a historical research approach, this study systematically examines the team’s developmental trajectory, focusing on its achievements, challenges, and influence on Taiwanese badminton. Findings reveal the team’s dominance from the 1970s to the 1990s, marked by 20 consecutive national championships and significant international victories. Supported by a state-owned enterprise, the team benefitted from stable resources and effective management.
