Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore the motivations, experience, interaction patterns, and impacts of visually impaired people who participated in adventure recreation activity. Taking "2018 Dark Sailor Kayaking" for example, this study was a qualitative research. The six visually impaired persons, four of them are blindness and two are low vision, were selected by purpose sampling. The researcher reached the conclusion through in-depth interviews combined with the outlines of semi-structured interviews, researcher's activity logs, texts, data analysis and subject interpretation. The study finds that the motivation of visually impaired people who participated in adventure recreation activities has five different types: stimulation seeking, novel pursuing, challenge taking, interpersonal attraction, unsatisfied demand. The experience process can be divided into three parts: swimming, braving wind and waves, and the ocean world; There are three parts of interaction process: interaction with self, interaction with the cooperator, and interaction with nature. The impact of participators could be divided into three parts: the deep-seated adventure seeds, the nourishment of the adventure experience, and the positive experience of the adventure. Based on the results, the researcher gave the advice for the future research and the agency that want to conduct adventure and recreation activities for the visually impaired.
