Abstract
The purposes of this study were to explore how textbooks are used among senior high school Civics and Society teachers in Taiwan. To achieve these purposes, this study selected Civics and Society teachers from eighty public and private high schools in Taiwan. The data were collected using the“Questionnaire of textbook use of Civics and Society teachers in Taiwanese Senior High Schools”. A total of 333 responses were received and among them 319 were valid. The effective response rate was 95.7%. Descriptive statistics,one-way ANOVA,Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient were conducted to analyze the data using IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 for windows. The major findings are listed as following: I. The use of textbooks among Civics and Society teachers in senior high school is lower than that of the average and the degree of contents using is higher in using textbooks II. Based on the results, suggestions for education authorities concerned, Civics and Society teachers and future researchers were proposed.
