Abstract

佛瑞 (Gabriel Faure, 1845-1924) 的創作生涯橫跨了十九世紀末的浪漫樂派,以及二十世紀初的現代樂派,因此他早期與晚期的音樂風格會有明顯的不同。但他依然能將不同樂派的創作手法兼容並蓄,發展出屬於自己的獨特風格。《A大調小提琴奏鳴曲》 (Violin Sonata No. 1 in A Major, Op. 13) 為佛瑞早期的第一首室內樂作品,當中使用的旋律與風格,除了符合浪漫樂派的特質,也有豐富的和聲變化,以及大膽的轉調手法。因此本論文將會進一步探討,佛瑞是如何將創新的和聲手法,融入傳統的浪漫樂派作品中。這首作品在單純優美的旋律中,同時蘊含豐富的和聲色彩,而使音色與情感有更細膩的層次,進而增加了演奏者在詮釋樂曲的難度。 本論文將分為五個章節來探討。第一章為研究動機與研究方法,第二章為十九世紀法國的音樂背景,以及佛瑞的生平概述;第三章介紹佛瑞的創作特色與手法,第四章和第五章分別為樂曲分析及演奏詮釋。
Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) lived in the transition between the late Romanticism and early modern eras in classical music, which makes his musical style various throughout his life of music-making. He not only uses the compositional techniques of different eras but also develops his own unique music languages. Violin Sonata No. 1 in A Major, Op. 13, his first chamber music work, sustains the melodic and harmonic characteristics of Romanticism with innovative techniques of modulations. This dissertation will emphasize the integration of traditional Romantic music style and novel compositional skills Fauré uses in his works. The Violin Sonata balances the elegant restraint and romantic ardour with rich harmonic variation, which brings a more delicate layer in terms of timbre and emotion and makes it more difficult for performers to interpret. This essay is divided into five chapters. In the beginning, the author will explain the motivation for choosing this piece and research methods. Later, the background of nineteenth-century French music and the biography of Fauré will be mentioned. In the third chapter, the author will introduce characteristics and techniques in his compositions. Next, the analysis and interpretation of Violin Sonata No. 1 in A Major, Op. 13 will be discussed in the fourth and the fifth chapter, respectively.
