Abstract
This study aimed to enhance deaf-mute children’s self-concept by means of group therapy with multimedia intervention. The “drawing a man”projective test was used to measure 118 deaf-mute children in grades 4-6 in a special school. Twenty-two deaf-mute children with low self-concept were selected as the subjects. They were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. After a four and half weeks experiment with 9 times treatment, the result showed: (1) In general, deaf-mute children had good level of self-concept. There were no significant differences between boys and girls, so as among different grades; (2) The self-concept of deaf-mute children was improved significantly by group therapy with multimedia intervention.
