魔法世界的食物——以《哈利波特》系列為例

Abstract

在充斥著冒險的現代奇幻文學中，食物都會較爲樸素，且方便攜帶，不易腐壞，其中很多都是在我們日常生活中就可以找到的。同樣，在羅琳（J.K.Rowling）所打造的各個小説世界中，食物一直都是不可缺少的一部分，《哈利波特》（Harry Potter）系列更是如此。在《哈利波特》系列中，食物這一意象主要由三部分組成：霍格華茲（Hogwarts）每天供應的各式各樣的英國料理、活米村（Hogsmeade）中獨有的魔法糖果零食和斜角巷（Diagon Alley）的「衛氏巫師法寶店」（Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes）出售的各類惡作劇商品。比起滿足人物的生理需求，解決溫飽問題，《哈利波特》中的食物更多的是各個人物生活中的一種消遣娛樂，因而這些食物與人物之間密不可分的聯繫是至關重要的。食物可以展現出人物的個性格特徵，加強他們自身的立場，構建人物之間的關係。我將主要從《哈利波特》系列中最具代表性的六樣食物入手，針對人物關係中的友誼關係和人物形象中的包容兩點，來探討食物在《哈利波特》如何連接人物之間的關係以及如何表現人物的性格特點，從而進一步延伸至《哈利波特》整個系列中食物在人物形象構建上所占據的重要位置。

In modern fantasy literature, which is full of adventures, foods are relatively simplistic, portable and can be preserved for a longer time, and many of them can be found in our everyday lives. Similarly, foods have always been an integral part of the worlds of J.K. Rowling's novels, especially the Harry Potterseries. They can be divided into three categories: a wide variety of British cuisine served daily at Hogwarts, the unique magical sweets and snacks of the Hogsmeade, and the pranks sold at the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley. The food in Harry Potter is more of a pastime than a way to satisfy the physical needs of the characters, and thus the inseparable connection between the food and the characters is of paramount importance. Food can show the characters' individual personality, strengthen their own stance, and build up the relationship between the characters. Starting from the six most representative food items in the Harry Potter series, I will focus on the friendship and inclusiveness of the characters to explore how food connects the characters and expresses their personality traits in Harry Potter, and then further extend the importance of food in the construction of the characters in the whole Harry Potter series.
