Abstract
The printing technique was one of the greatest inventions in ancient China. Around the 11th century, the world's first known movable type system was created by Bi Sheng in Song Dynasty, which brought the printing technique into a new age. While movable type system made its appearance in Europe, Johannes Gutenberg developed European movable type printing technology around 1439, and was widely used until the debut of computerized typesetting. As the traditional movable type printing technology was replaced by computerized typesetting, it turned out to be a historical artifact, displayed in the cabinet or museum. Also, movable type printing is a kind of relief printing which has similar functionality to the pattern embossing by dot-matrix hologram. The purpose of this research is to convert this movable type printing technology into a personal value-added signet with anti-counterfeiting capabilities, integrating this traditional printing system with dot matrix hologram. Firstly, this research uses a preview program to simulate the iridescent effect of dot-matrix hologram. Then, an index can estimate the iridescent effect of a dot-matrix hologram. Secondly, design a transparent acrylic shell for user-friendly purpose and can display the combination effect of movable type and hologram. This research converts the traditional type printing technology into a unique value-added product with the function of anti-counterfeiting.
