已婚育有子女男性對婆媳關係知覺經驗及其婚姻調適歷程研究

Abstract

本研究旨在探討已婚育有子女男性對於婆媳關係的知覺經驗及其婚姻調適的歷程，採用質化研究的方式與現象學研究方法，經由立意取樣，共選取7位符合資格的受訪者，透過深度訪談方式蒐集已婚育有子女男性對於婆媳關係的知覺經驗及其因應而生的婚姻調適歷程，研究發現如下：已婚育有子女男性對於婆媳關係的知覺經驗普遍結構包含：知覺婆媳間傳統與現代思想的衝突、「媳婦究竟是外人或自己人？」──已婚育有子女男性知覺婆媳間看法不一。已婚育有子女男性對於婆媳關係涉入婚姻調適策略包含：居中溝通、同理妻子情緒及立場、自我消化、希望妻子忍讓、暫時離開、不予理會或冷戰；且於婚後家庭距離界限重新劃分以調適婆媳關係壓力；將婆媳間協調責任視為己任。本研究亦說明了原生家庭價值文化影響了男性的婚姻調適情形。提升已婚育有子女男性因應婆媳關係涉入，其婚姻調適情形的資源或助力則包含：彼此配合，為對方著想；足夠的經濟資源；良好的親密互動關係；培養共同的興趣。基於上述的發現，研究者對於實務工作者及未來研究方向給予具體建議，盼能對男性之於家庭婚姻的調適有所幫助。

The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptual experience of married men with children on the relationship between mother and daughter-in-law and the process of marriage adjustment. Using qualitative research and phenomenological research methods, the researcher selected a total of 7 qualified respondents through intentional sampling. In-depth interviews were conducted to collect the perceived experiences of married men with children on the relationship between mother and daughter-in-law and their corresponding adjustment process to marriage. The findings are as follows: The general structure of perceived experience of married men with children on the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law includes: The conflict between traditional and modern thoughts of perception between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, “Is daughter-in-law an outsider or an insider?” --Men who are married with children have perceived different perceptions between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The adjustment strategies of married men with children for the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law include: Mediation in between, showing empathy for the wife’s emotions and positions, self-digestion, and hoping that the wife will tolerate, temporarily leave, ignore or demonstrate a silent treatment; and after the marriage, the family distance boundary is re-divided to adjust to the pressure of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. The men also take responsibility for coordination between mother and daughter-in-law as their own responsibility. This study shows that the values and culture of the men’s family of origin affects their marital adjustment as well.The resources to improve the marriage adjustment situation of married men with children include: Cooperation with each other while being considerate, adequate economic resources, healthy and intimate couple relationship, and developing common interests.Based on these findings, the researcher provided specific suggestions for practitioners and future research directions, hoping to help men adjust to family and marriage.
