Abstract

Recently, web-based learning has become a more popular and important learning method. This study was to investigate the correlations of learning style, media preference and the attitude toward web-based learning on the learning achievement. The study recruited 154 adult learners from Open University of Kaohsiung as the studied sample. One Way ANOVA, t-test, Pearson Correlation and Stepwise Regression were applied. Results indicated that(1)There was a positive correlation between adult learning styles and media and information preferences.(2) There was a positive correlation between adult learning media and information preferences and web-based learning attitudes. (3)There was a positive correlation between adult learning styles and learning attitudes.(4) ” Logical thinking” a factor of learning styles that predicted adult web-based learning achievements significantly. (5)Two factors of media and information preferences – audio and kinetsthetic, predicted adult web-based learning achievements significantly. (6)Two factors of adult learning attitudes – “organization of learning content” and “approach of learning tools” predicted adult web-based learning achievements significantly. (7)For adult web-based learning achievements, adult learning styles and web-based learning attitudes had a joint predictability.
