Abstract

This paper investigates how related factors associate with employees’ health behavior in worksite health promotion programs. Three hundred and twenty employees were selected by convenience sampling from one technology company. The data collection was based on structured questionnaires, and 286 completed respondents were received. The report concludes that including self-reported health status, social support, and supportive health environments of the employees were all positive; besides, their perceptions of health-promotion policies and organizations were shown over the average level; employees’ self-reported health behavior changed between the level of “slight increasing” and “fair increasing”; employees’ self-reported health behavior would change more when the personal perception level of health-promotion policies and organizations, the supportive level from society and the level of agreement on supportive health environments, and the level of the participation in worksite health promotion programs were higher. In addition, the level of the participation in worksite health promotion programs were significantly associated with gender, age, departments, professional titles, and job functions of the respondent. Overall, factors of social support, participation in worksite health promotion programs, and supportive health environments were the most significant factors to predict how employees’ self-reported health behavior changes in worksite health promotion programs.
