Abstract
The study takes the official local press of indigenous areas in Pingtung as its research subject. Utilizing the sociological perspectives of Norbert Elias from Mozart: Zur Soziologie eines Genies and referencing Wendy Griswold's cultural diamond framework, it categorizes the elements into four endpoints: official local press (cultural objects), editors (producers), readers (receivers), and the society (society). The study explores the interdependent and conflicting relationships between these groups within the figurational framework. According to Elias, genius emerges within a figuration that offers favorable developmental conditions. Artistic creativity is expressed through appropriate material forms but is not boundlessly free. Instead, it must consider the constraints of power, economics, politics, emotions, and other factors to align with societal norms and standards. Without such alignment, even the highest-quality works may fail to resonate with the market and gain recognition.Similarly, local press has increasingly served as a medium for presenting local issues in recent years. Among these, official local press often involves both official and non-governmental editors. When interacting with one another or navigating more complex configurations, these groups must carefully weigh societal expectations and public perceptions. Thus, the society benefits to the development of local press, the experiences and sentiments of official and non-governmental editors express the interdependent relationships among groups within the figuration , while simultaneously showcasing the artistry and publicity of official local press.
