Abstract This research is to discuss the present situation of the running of the Workstation of Social Education, as well as its hardships and solution which operated by school. After studying and analyses a series of relevant literature, the researching structure is formed. The self-edited conspectuses “The interview on the running and hardship of the Workstation of Social Education” and “The interview on the solution of the hardship of the Workstation of Social Education” are our researching tools. The research is by purposive sampling, including 5 volunteers from the Workstation of Social Education and 3 social education specialist. According to the interviews, discussions and analysis, we draw the following conclusions and suggestions. About the running, its management and organization are based on the schools’ resources; it has a simple marketing strategy; and its evaluation relies on exterior accreditation and oral appreciation. About the hardships in operation, poor human resources management leads to difficulties in organizational operation; its lack of resources due to school-oriented subjective thoughts; irrelevant marking management makes operation more difficult; and its lack of appreciation in the evaluation results in inapparent outcome. For the solutions to operation, good human resources management is the key to solve the problem; flexible use of the resources to full utilization; execution of marketing management improves the participation rate; the counsel-empowerment-oriented evaluation mechanism elaborates the credits of evaluation; and emphasis on both humanness and cognitive encouragements boost the morale of the volunteers. Based on the above conclusions, we have the following suggestions: I. To the convener of the Workstation of Social Education: A. Always publicize the idea of social education, get active involvement of the Workstation of Social Education; and B. Assign every job by people’s willingness, not by their job title; II. To the schools that operate the Workstation of Social Education: A. To implement the volunteer system, have a proper human resources management and to bring up their quantity and quality; B. Fight for all possible resources in the community, use the strategy of “do what on what you have” to enlarge the function of social education; C. Develop your own characteristics, organize the marketing chain so as to initiate the prosperity and popularity of social education; and D. Emphasize humanness and cognitive to strengthen their recognition and ability, as well as their morale and motivation. III. To the Social Education Center: A. Improve the evaluation mechanism, extend its efficiency; B. Launch more courses and be a competent counselor; and C. Build up a smooth hand-over system to guarantee good performance and operation of the Workstation of Social Education. IV. To future researches: A. The study of the willingness of the school-based volunteers of the Workstation of Social Education; and B. The studies in different categories or specific on a case study.
