資優生擁有良好的認知、語文及情感表達能力,使他們有能力成為優秀的作家。伴隨這些心智特徵,教育者發現資優生需要接觸廣泛的知識及文章脈絡、小說作品及深度的文化教材。藉由閱讀廣泛的重要文學作品,可激發資優生發現自己的聲音、獲得個人成長且對其文化有所貢獻。老師可結合閱讀與寫作,讓學生從中學習寫作技巧;運用獨立探索或合作學習進行寫作教學,讓學生從練習寫作與溝通技巧裡建立自己的獨創性。故本文建議以研究文學作品來進行寫作活動。
