本研究對象為86所辦理資優教育方案學校(49所小學,37所中學)的教師、行政人員及學生。本研究探討資優班老師對於資優教育方案的看法,包括如何看待 資優生在與什麼問題奮戰?以及何種方案是有效的?何者則無?我們從資優教師的訪談資料中抽出時一個主題:如:對資優的界定、教師所認為的資優生特質、教資 優生的原理原則(怎麼做有效?)以及教師所面臨的困擾(為何不能奏效?)。
