創造是人類的能力‚殘障者也不例外‚雖然殘障者因外在標記影響‚易使他降低對殘障創造力的期望‚但從一方面來看‚殘障更能激發創造力‚而歷史上也出了不少高創造力殘障者。殘障者的創造力可經適當的訓練和教育增進。在提供殘障創造力的 計畫方案前‚應盡量找出高創造力的殘障者‚而篩選、標準化測驗、診斷性教學及專業判斷是四種較可行的方法。篩選時可採用一些檢核表‚如托倫斯所編製的創造才能的非測驗指標所列舉的特徵。診斷性教學則宜於沒有長期的教學時。早期鑑定及實行有關創造力的教育對殘障者十分重要。
