Are users with different levels of English aptitude influenced differently? In an experiment the subjects assess one senior interpreter with higher reputation and one less-experienced interpreter after listening to their consecutive interpretation from Chinese into English. The subjects are then asked if they would hire the interpreters. The recordings of the two interpreters are in fact produced by the same professional interpreter and thus have consistent quality, except that the voice pitch, or fundamental frequency of voice, has been adjusted to distinguish the two renditions.
