We live in an age of fast-paced population growth and industrialization, leading global civilization towards a culture of consumerism and convenience. What are these changes' effects on our planet's environment and biodiversity? How does this new reality affect us individually, and what kinds of narratives can contemporary society employ to frame our modern chronicles? These are the questions I sought to answer during my creative research. This discourse aims to consider how an upbringing embedded in Western culture and Christianity informed my personal aesthetic choices. Subsequently, through comparative analysis, the text will also examine how these individual modes of expression fit into a larger art-historical context. By mining the metaphors of creations within the Western art canon, as well as contemporary artworks, I am able to better articulate the method of expression and meaning within my own work.Lastly, this essay will discuss my role as an artist in society. My creative research has prompted me to develop a personal stance concerning my artwork and craft a creative philosophy. Recurrent questions such as, “What should my art be in the service of?” and “How do I want my artwork to be received by the viewer?” will be considered in this treatise to better understand both my creative process and my relationship with the public. The text will examine how modernity and globalization have revealed an abundance of viewpoints which affects art’s interpretation. I will argue that an art exhibition that avoids mediation through excessive discourse and invites viewers to volunteer their reactions to the artwork allows for multiple artistic interpretations and democratizes the viewing experience for all. I will examine the ways in which my personal aesthetic and modes of expression are informed by a desire to reach my viewers on a visceral level and consider possible ways to elicit engagement and response from my viewers during the exhibition process.消費主義符號敘事基督教工業化consumerismsymbolsnarrativesChristianityindustrialization「意象」重塑-在這個環境高度不確定性的年代Re-Imagining Enduring Symbols in an Age of Environmental Uncertaintyetd
