賴慈芸Lai, Tzu-Yun阮靖予Juan, Ching-Yu2023-12-082023-07-132023-12-082023https://etds.lib.ntnu.edu.tw/thesis/detail/ca9a9fbf0711627bceaf997ff554d41c/http://rportal.lib.ntnu.edu.tw/handle/20.500.12235/120364《荒漠甘泉》(Streams in the Desert) 是一本基督教屬靈書籍，也是先總統 蔣中正（以下簡稱蔣中正）最愛的書籍之一。原著作者為考門夫人 (Mrs. Cowman)，該書於1920年出版，採取每日一篇的形式，每日附上經文及聖徒之相關作品。至今仍是基督教除了《聖經》之外最暢銷的書籍。蔣中正因認為當時由唐醒及袁周潔民所翻譯的《荒漠甘泉》中文譯本（以下簡稱唐版）刪節過多，故委請王家棫重新編譯此書（以下簡稱王版），由其親自審定，並規定軍中的官兵都要閱讀此書。也因為王版按照「主題」重新編排，導致前後順序與原著相差甚遠。王版《荒漠甘泉》相較於原著多增加了12個月份的證道詞及每日重點提示。12個月份證道詞的時間點大部分都是1950年後蔣中正於受難日發表的，內容將基督宗教與反共抗俄、三民主義及光復大陸等政治意識形態混為一談，與當時政黨及宗教推崇的「護教反共」不謀而合。本論文整理蔣中正對其所作之修飾及潤色，分析王版、唐版及原著之間的相似及相異處。最後證明，撇除證道詞等新增內容，王版確實是以考門夫人原著為依據所翻譯，也證實唐版真如蔣中正所言，內容不完整，刪譯過多。但即使如此，不可否認的是，一本原屬基督教的經典靈修書籍，在蔣中正的操作下變成「革命精神修養日課」的事實。Streams in the Desert (1920) is a Christian spiritual book and one of the favorite books of late President Chiang Kai-shek (referred to as Chiang). The original author was Mrs. Charles E. Cowman.Chiang thought the other popular Chinese version of Streams in the Desert which translated by Tang Xing (referred to as Tang’s version) had deleted too much content. Thus, he entrusted Wang Jia-yu to re-translate and edit the book, and personally reviewed and approved the final version (referred to as Wang’s version). Chiang also required that all military personnel read this book.In comparison to the original, Wang’s version added twelve months of sermons and daily reflections. Most of these sermons were given by Chiang after 1950. The content mixes Christianity with political ideologies such as anti-communism, the Three Principles of the People, and so on.The study concludes that, excluding the added sermons and daily reflections, Wang’s version was more closely followed Cowman's original work, while Tang’s version was indeed heavily edited.
