Based on social cognitive theory and social capital theory, this study attempts to explore the influence process of computer self-efficacy to knowledge sharing behavior and understand how instant messaging use intensity and social capital can influence the relationship between them. We distributed the questionnaires to 212 employees at two time points. Hypotheses were analyzed by hierarchical regression. The results showed that (1) Computer self-efficacy is positively related to instant messaging use intensity. (2) Instant messaging use intensity is positively related to social capital. (3) Instant messaging use intensity is mediated relationships between computer self-efficacy and social capital. (4) Social capital is positively related to knowledge sharing behavior.
