The researcher focused on the importance of cross-cultural communication in the medical workplace. This study provided some new insights into the bases and consequences of cross-cultural communication between Russian expatriates and Taiwanese employees. The purpose of the present study was to examine the cross-cultural communication experience between Russian expatriates and Taiwanese employees in Taiwan. Kim’s (2001, 2005) integrative communication theory of cross-cultural adaptation provided the basis for offering an explanation of the linkage the communication competence. The analysis used portions of verbal transcripts obtained through 12 in-depth personal interviews between May 2009 and April 2010.
