In an effort to speed up preparation of tomorrow's teachers to use technology (PT3), the Ministry of Education of Taiwan has launched several multi-million U.S. dollar projects to facilitate and to promote the use of information technologies in the classrooms and in teaching across all subject areas. Those national efforts are directed at improving networking infrastructure, the computing environments, the digital educational resources, and on teacher training. In this paper, we will report the endeavors undertaken, the accomplishments, the current and on-going PT3 related projects in Taiwan and discuss the issues that have emerged.An Overview of Information Technology on K-12 Education in Taiwan
