The purpose of this study is to investigate the roles of and the problems faced by ICT coordinators in junior high schools in Taiwan. A questionnaire survey was conducted to the technology coordinators in 410 junior high schools. Three hundreds and five questionnaires were returned, a 74.4% response rate. The study found that ICT coordinators performed a wide range of duties, including managing computer network, maintaining IT hardware and software, providing technical support for teachers, and doing related administrative work. They considered the management/maintenance of the network, computer systems, and ICT equipment as the most troublesome work. Most of them felt their workload is too heavy. Only about one third of them considered staying on their current position in the upcoming academic year.en_US
