Abstract
本研究的主要目的乃發展一般影片主要畫面(Key frames)自動擷取及建立索引相關技術。本研究直接使用MPEG I / II 壓縮格式影片，且在不還原為原本畫面的情況下，以偵測片段變化的技術(shot change detection)找出影片中主要畫面的位置，並進一步替影片製作索引，使得影片在觀看時更有彈性。由實驗結果可以顯示本研究所提出的演算法在實行上不論是執行速度或是偵測的結果均有不錯的成效。
The goal of this research is to develop an automatic key frame extraction subsystem for videos. The videos are assumed to be in MPEG I/II format and the key frames are extracted and indexed without having to decompress the videos. Experimental results show that the system is fast and reliable.
