Abstract
本文主要在說明臺灣省縣市公共圖書館近幾年來在自動化、網路化及數位化上的發展願景、現況、成果，以及公共圖書館在面臨精省及改隸作業後經營上所遇到的困難，希望政府相關單位能重視此發展之歷程，在新舊交替之際，不要讓前面的努力落空，使公共圖書館的發展能趕上時代的需求。
This paper is aimed to state the vision, state-of-the-art and achievement of the automation network and digitization of public libraries in Taiwan. It is also explores the problems and difficulties encountered after the Taiwan Province Government re-organized. Hope the new Government continues to support the development of public libraries, and help them to meet the needs of the public in the new era.
