In 1927 July, the cooperation between the Communist Party and the Kuomintang (KMT) broke down. The Communist Party turned to combat the KMT with violence. There was a burtal slaughter accompany the resistance. The slaughter was also called Red Terror. Most research attributed the reasons to left putschism, however, that cannot completely explain why the revolutionary killed so many innocent civilians. The deeper reason for the slaughter needed to do further investigation. In addition, the Red Terror did not promote the victory of the Communist Party. So, the effect of the Red Terror needed to be re-evaluated.
