The purpose of this article was to analyze those studies that explored the effects of Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) training with children with autism. The author compared the following variables in 11 studies: subject, research design, teaching setting, criteria for subject selection, intervention design of PECS, and dependent variablesAt last, the author raised some suggestions for future studies
