A Case Study on the Implementation of “ The Mathematics Remedial Instruction in the Junior High School ” in a junior high school in Taoyuan County

This research focus on exploring the implementation of “ The mathematics remedial instruction in the junior high school ” in a junior high school in Taoyuan County. This research applied the strategies including semi-structured interviews, participant observations and analyzations of documents to collect the data of the research. The main findings of this study are: (1) the junior high school executed remedial mathematics instruction according to the remedial instruction principles, but didn’t make it widely known that the ideal and the spirit of mathematics remedial instruction, (2) the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction didn’t obey the individual principle when they plan the column context ,(3) the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction of the junior high school applied the one by one instruction model to conduct individual instruction. (4) the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction of the junior high school considered that the report of ANSP couldn’t provide the reference value ,(5) the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction of the junior high school considered that the research and study should focus on the sharing of operation of the remedial instruction ,(6) the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction of the junior high school doubted the effects of mathematics remedial instruction, and suggested that the school should choose those students who possessed learning aspiration to conduct mathematics remedial instruction,(7) lacking the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction, and low aspiration of participation of students resulted the difficulties of estabiliting the mathematics remedial classes ,(8) the junior high applied the member ordernation of mathematics teacher’s group to solve the problem of lacking of mathematics remedial teachers ,(9) the main challenges of the implementation of mathematics remedial instruction in junior high school are the huge gaps of achievements of mathematics of students,and the low aspiration of learning mathematics of students, (10) the teachers of remedial mathematics instruction applied individual teaching model, different aspirative methods to solve the huge gaps of achievements of mathematics of students,and the low aspiration of learning mathematics of students According the results of the research, the author would like to provide suggestions to the junior high school, the educational departments being responsible for the remedial instruction, and the further studies.
