Item The Effect of Leadership Behavior, Knowledge Management Practice, Corporate Culture on Organizational Performance for Banking Institution in Taiwan(2012) 蔡宜靜; Yi-Ching TsaiUnder this rapidly changing environment, it is hard to keep the same strategy. However, leaders should know the goal of company development, customers’ future needs, and issue constant change in corporate strategy. After the 1990’s, knowledge management became an important issue, as it can gradually influence organizational performance. Additionally, the execution of knowledge management, leadership behavior and corporate culture will influence business performance. Thus, this study aims to show knowledge management execution, leadership behavior and corporate culture influences the business performance in the context of financial institutions in Taiwan. There are seven banks join this important survey which including Bank of Taiwan, Land bank, Cathay bank, Tai-shin bank, SK bank, Far Eastern bank and En-Tie bank. The research samples are to be collected and the data will be analyzed by Descriptive statistics, Ordinal least squares (OLS) and Partial Least Squares (PLS).The empirical results show that leadership, practice and culture all have positive and significant effect on Taiwan commercial banks’ organizational performance. The results of the Descriptive statistics helped to point out what aspects of the knowledge management system influence were most important for organization to execute knowledge management. According to original theory, leadership, practice and culture these three dimensions are overlapping. Therefore, assumption one is three dimensions run multiple regressions separately. They are four factors in each dimension. And, they are two to three factors in dimension are significant. Assumption two is that three dimension, there are seven factors run multiple regressions, and find out only three factors are significant. The empirical results show the banking system need to improve trust and authentic leadership and enforce other dimension to help organization to improve organizational performance. In order to solve the problem of multicollinearity in OLS multiple regressions, a system equation model was established by using PLS method. The empirical results of PLS method for different assumptions and hypothesis shows that leadership behavior, knowledge management practice and corporate culture have positive and significant effect on organizational performance for banking institution in Taiwan.Item The Knowledge Integrated Management Model: A Case Study of International Cooperation and Development Fund(2011) Peter Jean PaulThis paper has five research objectives. Firstly, to measure the effect of Knowledge Management (KM) Strategies on KM Enablers; secondly, measure the effect of KM Enablers on the Knowledge Creation Process (KCP); thirdly, to measure the effect of KCP on the three aspects of Organizational Performance; fourthly, to determine if the degree of T-shaped skills affects Organizational Performance in TaiwanICDF; finally, to determine if there is a significant difference in the three aspects of Organizational Performance due to the four KM Styles formed from KM Strategies. A Quantitative Research design was used. 130 questionnaires were handed out, and 128 valid responses were received. The findings indicate that KM Strategies do have a significant effect on KM enablers, which in turn does have a significant effect on the KCP. KCP also has a significant effect on Innovation, Financial Performance and Customer Satisfaction in TaiwanICDF. The degree of T-shaped skills, as well as the KM Styles adopted, do have significant effects on Organizational Performance. Since this is a Case Study, results may not be generalized to all Non-Profit organizations (NPO’s). This paper shows that it is important that TaiwanICDF pay close attention to the KM Strategies and Enablers that they are using, as this can affect the KCP and indirectly affect the organization’s performance. Also, the degree of T-shaped skills present in the organization can impact all three aspects of the organization’s performance. Using a modified KM Model, this paper attempts to make NPO’s aware of the importance of KM variables to Organizational Performance.Item 智慧資本和知識管理對台灣會議展覽產業的影響(2011) 林浩源; Hao - Yuan LinIntellectual capital is recognized to be the most significant knowledge assets by scholars and field experts, such as Dr. Peter Drucker, the Nobel Winner Dr. Theodore Schultz, and Dr. Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric., with effective knowledge management yields substantial growth and profit. The sustainable management of knowledge created from IC is also critical to survival, as well as, success for the long run to organization and individual alike. Although MICE have been in operation for some time in Taiwan, its enormous economic implications have not been noticed until recently. The industry is still at developmental stage working on growth, together with prominent outlook makes it an interesting and motivating field to investigate. The researcher would like to contribute to the greater expansion of intellectual capital study and, at the same time, explore this lesser known Taiwan MICE Industry with great potential. Quantitative method was used for data collection, while fifteen Taiwan MICE organizations participated for research. Both pilot test and final result revealed high Cronbach alpha of internal consistency on construct validity. The researcher used Multiple Regression and Partial Least Square to analyze the data collected. The R squares are showing good results indicate that model is withholding. Multiple regression test came out with many significant factors demonstrated intellectual capital existence as well as impact on Taiwan MICE Industry business performance of market leadership and financial performance. Partial Least Square has also signified intellectual capital significance. The relational capital has the most influence for Taiwan MICE Industry. The path from human capital to knowledge management system / structural capital, to relational capital, then business performance path has notable influence. The passage from human capital to relation capital, to business performance also came out with good result. Recommendations were given to Taiwan MICE Industry stakeholders with future research options provided. keywords: intellectual capital, knowledge management, knowledge management system, Taiwan mice industry, business performances.Item An Evaluation of NTNU’s Knowledge Management System on Undergraduates Satisfaction and Academic Performance(2010) 莫爾東; Melton MorrisonPreservation of knowledge is probably one of the most important functions of an organization. Additionally, not only should organizations be preserving knowledge but they should also find a way to generate and capture knowledge—this is known as knowledge management (KM). Companies should not only engage in knowledge management but they should also evaluate their knowledge management systems (KMS) to asses if it is meeting the pre-established set of goals. Moreover, in organizations the KMS is seldom evaluated and it is even rarer when a university evaluates its KMS. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the Knowledge Management System (Moodle) at National Taiwan Normal University. This research used students’ satisfaction and academic performance as indicators of the effectiveness of the knowledge service and successful and sustainable knowledge service. Therefore, this research introduces KMSAP as a theoretical framework through the integration of KMS, satisfaction and academic performance, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the system on students. Questionnaires were issued personally to undergraduate students ranging from different departments. Multiple regression results indicate that the Moodle system has a significant and positive effect on males and females performances combined. It also indicated that students are generally satisfied with the knowledge management service but some adjustments needs to be made to better adapt to the students needs. Paired samples t-test found that females uses the Moodle system more often than males do and that, in return, females have better academic performance than the male students. Results from paired samples t-test also pointed out which learning style is most common among the students. With the knowledge of this the researcher made recommendations to the KM staff as to how they can adjust the system to suit the students learning styles. The results of the descriptive statistics helped to point out what aspects of the knowledge system were students most satisfied with and some areas in which improvements needs to be made. It also gives a raw view of what students are thinking about the Moodle system. Pei-Hsuan LiThere had been many researches discussed e-learning in Taiwan, but there were merely few studies on m-learning. However, m-learning was not a new topic in Europe. In Taiwan, a lot of corporations had successfully implemented e-learning in their workforce training system. Therefore, this research wanted to study if there any corporation in Taiwan might implement m-learning in workforce training, and what the needs and planning from e-learning to m-learning on workforce training in corporations were.
